Pregnancy Countdown
It is funny that with pregnancy you start counting down from day one, and not counting up. Pregnancy countdown till delivery, till you can catch your breath - you did it, you brought a beautiful, healthy, new human into the world. Giving birth is the greatest countdown; when it comes to death, you don't know when it's going to occur, but with birth, it is exactly the opposite. It's about nine months, forty weeks or two hundred and eighty days. That's normally your countdown. If you happen to have an early delivery, or an unfortunate miscarriage, the counting deviates. Otherwise, you'll be drawing a timeline or timetable, on paper or on your computer, or your baby's first calendar and you'll be counting the days till your cute and soft bundle of joy will be out crying and squeezing its tiny fists; until you may hold your baby and breastfeed it.
Adventure ride
Your pregnancy countdown adventures will start with the days of craving for grapes and being sick with strong smells; then come the days when you can't get back your sound sleep, your breasts are swollen and your nipples are forever aroused. The countdown passes through the general fatigue, stomach cramps, gas, legs and back pains. You'll be counting the days when your mood shifts abruptly like never before and tears are staying in ambush. Days later, you wake up serene and you're checking in the mirror a radiant and mysterious face, that of being a mom and having a miracle growing inside that belly. The adventure goes on with medical check-ups and tests and counseling and the moments of pure thrill listening to your baby's heart beating. And you get to decipher, it's got fingers and legs and arms and head and sex. You're getting excited and you're counting down the days even faster.
Pregnancy countdown includes a close monitor on what you eat and how much; what you drink, and what not; the music you listen, and the books you read. You'll be paying reinforced attention to your thoughts and you'll be doing your best to keep them positive and tender, knowing that your entire state of being while pregnant is said to influence the child. The father and the entire family will follow the same path and the general climate will be the most welcoming for the future new and youngest member of your family.
Your pregnancy countdown includes careful preparations of your house and the baby's room- the colors, the light, the cradle and the rocking chair. And oh, the shopping for all those little clothes. I'm especially fond of the socks, they are so incredibly tiny! And everything turns colorful and everybody is excited much like before Christmas. Yeah, Santa Claus will be bringing the supreme gift to you and your family- a small human that will resemble you.
